General description and domicile:
Native to Northern United States and Canada this conifer grows to about ten
meters. They are slow-growing graceful trees widely used as wind-breaking hedges
and ornamental trees.
The Yellow Cedar was introduced into Europe in the sixteenth century and is now
grown all over the world.
The timber has a wide use due to its durability.
Part used and extraction:
Fresh leaves and small twigs of young plants are used.
Remedy preparation:
Chopped and steeped in alcohol and filtered to obtain mother tincture
History:
The Homeopathic remedy was proved by Hahnemann.
Thuja was used as a herbal medicine by the Native Americans and early settlers.
Later the tree became popular as a decorative tree and was exported to Europe
where it was also adopted as a herbal remedy.
