Citronella is a grass found in most tropical areas from India to South America. It was originally a product of Sri Lanka only but Java oil is currently regarded as superior. Citronella is probably best known as an additive to candle wax to deter insects (mostly mosquitos) but is also used as an aroma in detergents and some cosmetics.
