The German chamomile flower is a little smaller than the English or Roman Camomile. The properties are similar but many claim that the German oil is gentler on the skin.

Constituents:

Bisabolol and Bisabolol Oxides: An anti-inflammatory sesquiterpene.

Sesquiterpenes: When sesquiterpenes occur in essential oils it is mostly in combination with monoterpenes. Sesquiterpenes have a higher melting point than monoterpenes.

Sesquiterpenes are anaesthetic, antifungal, antiseptic and antibacterial.

 

 

Chamazulene: A blue sesquiterpene. A hydrocarbon used in skin conditioners
